Message From the Principal

Dear Ebenezer Students and Parents:

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year at Ebenezer Middle School.  We hope that your summer has been restful and that you are looking forward to the fall term, which begins Tuesday, August 20th.  School begins at 8:30 a.m. and will end at 3:30 p.m.

Orientation will be held August 15th at 6:00 p.m. in the Lecture Hall for all parents and students that are new to Ebenezer and who will not be attending 6th grade Day Camp.

The regular school day begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m.  We will begin daily announcements in the gym at 8:15 a.m.  Students will not be tardy until 8:30 a.m.  Students will receive a copy of their schedule on August 20th during homeroom. Students will also be given an information packet of materials to be reviewed by parents.  Please complete and return the forms required by the school. Emergency cards must be returned by August 23rd. A new card must be on file for all returning and new students.  Students will only be released to individuals specified on the emergency card; we require picture I.D.’s for those signing students out. When a new emergency card has been filled out during the year, the previous card will be destroyed, and the new information will be entered into the computer.

Students will not be allowed to carry book bags to classes after they have been assigned a locker. Book bags must be stored in the student’s locker. Locker fees are $5.00 for the year and include a regular hall locker with a combination lock and a locker for when the student is taking Physical Education. All locks must be school issued. There is a $7.00 replacement fee for a lost lock.

All students in Sumter School District will be provided a free breakfast and lunch.

Students are to be dropped off and picked up from the parking area on the side of the school.  Please do not block the bus loading area; there are spaces provided for parent pick-up and drop-off parking.  Parking spaces are also provided in front of the main entrance for early dismissals and visiting parents.  We ask that parents do not block these spaces as we have people entering and leaving the building at all times.
