7th Grade Social Studies Teacher
I moved to Rock Hill, SC in 1998 just after receiving my Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. In Rock Hill, I attended Winthrop University where I obtained my Masters of Art in Teaching Secondary Social Studies. I have taught grades 7,8,10,11 and 12. I moved to Sumter in 2015 and eventually came to Ebenezer. I have 2 children Adrienne and Kevin and two grandchildren Isabella and Thomas and a husband, Wes.
Together we have traveled far and wide. We have lived in Florida, Texas, Pennsylvania, Germany, and South Carolina. Through research, we have learned our family immigrated to South Carolina in the 1600’s. So we have essentially returned to where it all began.

Hey y’all! My name is Laura Burleson! I have been teaching at Ebenezer Middle School for about 10 years now. I graduated from Sumter High School and graduated college from USC Upstate at Sumter. I have been married for about 12 years now and have two children, Addyson and Ayden. I am a huge Disney fan! I love going to Disney and the mountains. One of my favorite things to do when I am not working is reading young adult books and volunteering at my church with the youth group!
