My name is Beverly Bearor. I am originally from Vermont. I moved to Sumter, SC in 2007. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Math Education and Special Education from Castleton State College. I also earned a Master’s degree in Emotional Behavioral Disabilities from the University of North Dakota. I have been teaching since 2005. In addition to teaching, I also coach track and previously coached cheerleading. At EMS, I am the Lead Special Education Teacher, as well as SAVE Coordinator and mentor.

My name is Julia Fullard and I am a native of Sumter, South Carolina. I have two sons and two grandchildren. I graduated from Sumter High School and Central Carolina Technical College. I possess an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. I was the Supervisor/Director of the PERK Program (Positive Experiences for Rewarding Kids) at Millwood Elementary School for 12 years. I am currently at Ebenezer Middle School and have been for three years as a Paraprofessional. Some of my hobbies include reading, cooking, listening to music, shopping, and spending time with family. My motto is: “Don’t look down on someone unless you’re helping them up.”
My name is Jennifer Byrd. I am a Sign Language Interpreter for the Deaf. I have worked for Sumter School District 17/Sumter School District for the past 17 years. I have worked in a lot of different kinds of settings from Pre-K to Adult Education and even the Career Center. I enjoy working with different people and getting along with all I meet. I am interested in Deaf Culture and enjoy spending time with my Deaf friends online and in person. I also enjoy knitting scarves. I am not very talented with that as of yet but I still try. I enjoy reading books about mystery and unexplained occurrences mostly “Who done it?” books. I have been happily married for 15 years to my hubby and we have two amazing children. My boy just entered middle school and loves Army tanks. My girl is in 2nd grade and is all about rainbows, unicorns, and mermaids. We have a five-year-old orange tabby cat named Rose who we found at the SPCA. She loves to give nose kisses. We have a pie-bald dachshund named Baxter who is 14 years old. He may be old but he doesn’t let that stop him. He still loves to run and play.

I’m originally from Sanford, Maine but have been a transplant since 2004 in South Carolina. I have 20 years of military service in the Air Force. I’ve been teaching since 2013 as an exceptional student teacher in two different districts ( Sumter and Kershaw) teaching grade levels from Kindergarten to 8th grade. I have a Masters Degree in Special Education and I’m certified in special education and Middle School Social Studies. I have two grown children ( Cassidy and Glaysen) both in college working towards their degrees. Finally, I have my amazing wife Dr. Tammy Small in Education working as an assistant principal in the Kershaw school district. We enjoy traveling especially to Disney!!

I am originally from Baltimore, Maryland and I moved to South Carolina in 1980 with my family. I have two children that also work for Sumter School District: Desirae’28 years old and De’juan 33 years old. I have three grandkids, Ayana, Dejuan Jr., and Diamond. I received an Associate’s Degree in Secretarial Science from Coastal Carolina, an Associate’s degree from Coker College, in Early Childhood Education, and a Bachelor’s Degree In Early Childhood Education and Special Education Cross Categorical, Magna Cum Laude, from Grand Canyon University. I have been in Education for twenty-two years and have enjoyed every minute of it. A motto I try to live by is that “People will forget what you said, they will forget what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel”.

My name is Dahlia Wilson. I am a sixth-grade teacher. I graduated from South Carolina State University and Grand Canyon University. I am the proud aunt of 3 nieces and 3 nephews.

My name is Gayle Young. I joined the Ebenezer family in 2018 as an exceptional child paraprofessional. I am a native of South Carolina, born in Sumter. I attended Eastern School which is now R.E. Davis Preparatory Academy, Mayesville Institute, and graduated from Mayewood High School in 1978. I continued my education at SC State College (University) with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Speech Pathology and Audiology. I also graduated from Lesley University in 2010 with a Master’s of Education in Integrated Arts: Curriculum and Instruction. My husband and I have celebrated 38 years together. We have a large family of 10 children and 14 grandchildren. I enjoy family time, gardening, fishing, and quiet time when I can.
