Principal
Bertha Timmons
It is with great pride, enthusiasm, and excitement that I introduce myself as the new principal of Ebenezer Middle School and assure you of my commitment to building upon the many successes achieved over the years. I am looking forward to building relationships with students, staff, parents, and guardians as we work together to develop an even stronger community.
My background includes 25 years of experience in Sumter School District and five years with the South Carolina Department of Education. These aforementioned roles allowed me to work as a classroom teacher, teacher specialist, curriculum coordinator, and assistant principal. Additionally, I was an instructor for South Carolina’s Program of Alternative Certification for Educators (PACE) and an adjunct professor at two local colleges. During my years as an educator, I gained valuable experiences working with students and educators from diverse backgrounds.
Together, we will achieve the goals of providing challenging, meaningful, and engaging learning experiences for students and ensuring a safe environment of genuine respect and rapport. I will work diligently to uphold and strengthen continuous improvement efforts that prepare our students academically, socially, and emotionally for high school.
Recognizing the great community involvement that supports Ebenezer Middle School, your on-going collaboration and assistance are requested. My door is open, and your input is welcomed. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns throughout the school year. I look forward to working with you as a team and serving the Ebenezer community.
